The ZPMC Supply Chain
Navigating the complex BOM of ZPMC Ship-to-Shore cranes. Sourcing genuine port machinery parts for electrical and mechanical systems.
1. Decapsulating the ZPMC Electrical Room
ZPMC dominates 70% of the global STS crane market. Inside the electrical room (E-Room), you’ll typically find a Siemens S7 PLC or ABB drive system. However, many auxiliary components like contactors, relays, and limit switches are locally sourced Chinese brands (e.g., Chint or custom ZPMC-spec).
Zhenke’s Advantage: We are based in the Yangtze River Delta, the heart of ZPMC’s supplier network. We can identify and supply the exact OEM electrical components without the need for expensive retrofitting.
CRANE BRAKING
ZPMC relies on Bubenzer or Sibre brakes for hoist and gantry motion.
- ? Brake Thrusters (Electro-Hydraulic)
- ? Sintered Brake Pads
- ? Seal Kits for Calipers
SHEAVES & WIRE ROPE
We supply OEM sheaves manufactured by ZPMC’s designated casting foundries.
- ? Hot Rolled Sheaves
- ? Nylon Sheaves
- ? Anti-Twist Wire Rope
SPREADER PARTS
Parts for ZPMC’s own brand spreaders and Bromma/RAM integrations.
- ? Twistlock Pins
- ? Flipper Arms
- ? Landing Pins
2. Obsolescence Management for Older Cranes
Many ZPMC cranes delivered in the early 2000s use components that are now obsolete. For example, older Ansaldo drives or specific Japanese limit switches may no longer be in production.
The Zhenke Solution: We provide engineering support to cross-reference these obsolete parts with modern, form-fit-function equivalents from the original component manufacturers. This ensures your 20-year-old STS crane remains operational without a complete control system overhaul.
3. Critical Steel: Sheaves & Trolley Wheels
A ZPMC STS crane operates 24/7, placing immense stress on the wire rope sheaves. OEM ZPMC sheaves are typically Hot Rolled Steel with a hardness of HB 220-260. Over time, “Corrugation” (wavy wear patterns) develops in the groove, which rapidly destroys expensive wire ropes.
Zhenke Maintenance Protocol: We supply direct replacements from ZPMC’s casting supplier in Nantong. For high-cycle cranes, we also offer Nylon (MC Polyamide) sheaves which reduce wire rope wear by up to 40% and lower the boom weight.
ZPMC trolley wheels use a specific interference fit for the bearings. Using local machine shop copies often results in bearing spin inside the hub. Our port machinery parts include fully assembled wheel blocks with SKF/FAG bearings pre-pressed to factory tolerance.

4. Stopping Power: Bubenzer & ZPMC Brakes
Safety on an STS crane depends on the Emergency Gantry Brakes and Hoist Brakes. ZPMC universally adopts Pintsch Bubenzer or Sibre systems. The weak link is often the electro-hydraulic thruster (Ed 30/50 etc.).
We stock the complete range of Bubenzer repair kits, including sintered brake pads, thruster seal kits, and hydraulic release units. Regular replacement of the thruster oil and seals is mandatory to prevent “brake drag” which can overheat the main hoist motor.

5. Global Supply from the Source
Sourcing parts for ZPMC cranes outside of China can be slow. Local agents often wait for shipments from Shanghai. Zhenke Machinery is located in Ningbo, just across the bay from the ZPMC Changxing base.
We consolidate electrical components (relays, sensors) with heavy mechanical parts (wheels, twistlocks) into a single shipment. We understand the urgency of a “Crane Down” situation and offer Express Air Freight for critical components like PLC modules or brake thrusters.
